About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an International Technology Governance, Accountability and Assurance Lead Consultant to join the team in Singapore.

This role is crucial in the governance and management of our technology risk and control (Business Accountability) agenda in APAC and operation of the wider International Technology organization, working in close collaboration with Enterprise partners and across our lines of defense. The role also incorporates essential and value-adding activities in Business Services, to coordinate and deliver Technology-related activities and resources in support of business activities.

The role will report to the Technology Business Services Director for International and Coverage Technology. It will also co-report to the Regional Head of Technology for APAC in Singapore.


In this role, you will:

  • Own and/or oversee technology risk deliverables across APAC and International jurisdictions and be engaged in initiatives designed to mitigate current and emerging technology risk issues and concerns
  • Assess, analyze, and design complex and multi-faceted technology controls, protocols, and procedures with respect to risk mitigation and the control environment, including ensuring effective planning for sustainability, ongoing control adherence, reporting, measurement, technology impacts, and monitoring
  • Triage and coordinate approach to live and emerging business risk issues and concerns
  • Drive a more thorough and joined-up approach to Regulatory assessments, especially mapping components, with clearer definition of responsibilities and hand-offs
  • Make decisions in complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of business’s functional area or products, operations, and regulatory environment; facilitate decision-making and issue resolution, and support implementation of developed solutions and plans; influence and lead key business partners to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid to senior-level managers to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance in interpreting, developing, and implementing risk-mitigating strategies
  • Act as liaison for the business with external parties to support timeliness, appropriate response strategy, and effectiveness of communications and materials
  • Provide high-quality support to senior management to enable effective decision-making, including resourcing, talent management, delivery prioritization, trend analysis and employee communication efforts
  • Be engaged in or own business process improvement initiatives relating to Agile Transformation, Cost Efficiency and Improvement Programs, Innovation, Key Performance Metrics and developing meaningful People Agenda
  • Work across different Technology teams to ensure key business updates and risks are captured timely and discussed with relevant stakeholders and operating committees
  • Contribute to running and evolution of International governance routines and delivers rigorous reporting, particularly with aim to improve control over services provided by Enterprise teams
  • Assist with communication of key International Technology accomplishments, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and risks / issues including data and metrics analytics and commentary to International Technology leadership and business partners and stakeholders
  • Support for workforce and location strategies, including hiring tracking, organizational moves, and office occupancy planning
  • Be rigorous in approach to documenting evidence to demonstrate “reasonable steps” per regulatory accountabilities (escalations, notifications, etc.)
  • Maintain active feedback loop across initiatives and exercises to strive for improvements in working practices and application of learnings
  • Provide support for on-site inspections and Audit liaison


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of risk management, business controls, quality assurance, business operations, compliance, or process experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Demonstrable understanding of Regulatory environments
  • Strong level of proficiency in MS-Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in product-based setup, experience of running agility office / change programs, and familiarity with software engineering and tech stack including Cloud, Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning, Blockchain
  • Previous Agile team, Kanban Lead or Scrum Master experience
  • Experience in liaising with Auditors

  • Capable to keep on top of portfolio of activities and exercises pertaining to our full complement of Regulators, Legal Entities and Audits
  • Strong and proven experience of managing broad range of Technology (infrastructure, applications, operations, cybersecurity) related regulatory exams, internal audits and remediation efforts
  • Ability to produce clear reports, management updates and engage directly with senior stakeholders and business executives
  • Well-connected across the Technology organization, building network of extensive leverageable contacts in the US
  • Well-versed in Risk & Control procedures and associated tooling
  • Familiar with Product and Technology offerings and suite of applications
  • Proactive mind-set with innate follow-up discipline
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in collating, analyzing, and synthesizing data from multiple sources
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to cultivate positive working relationships and business outcomes with global stakeholders and team members
  • Highly articulate and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong financial acumen, numerate and able to understand financial operational impacts
  • Proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues, and having tenacity to drive solutions through to a conclusion with good judgement

  • Experience communicating and presenting complex information to multiple levels of the organization
