GENERAL OVERVIEW
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Analyst (Costing) to join our finance team. As an Analyst, you will be responsible for a full spectrum of the Costing role including Product and Project Costing, management reporting, and analysis.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Understand the cost drivers for the company’s existing and new Business Lines: This involves identifying and analysing the factors that contribute to the costs incurred by different business lines within the company.
Able to understand the processes so as to determine, collect and analyse data about the operational costs of each business line: This requires a deep understanding of the business activities value chain to accurately gather and analyse data related to operational costs.
Developing and maintain cost allocation methodology: This involves evaluating the standards for costing to ensure consistency and accuracy in cost analysis and its relevancy to current business activities.
Engage cross-functional stakeholders and explain the costs and the underlying allocation methodology: This involves preparing and analysing the profitability of each business activity and requires effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders from various functions to ensure they understand the costing methodology and to optimize the cost where applicable.
Evaluating Financial Viability for commercial transactions: This entails the review of the costs of providing the commercial transactions and comparing the profitability against existing business activities.
Preparation of Business Segment Reports for Management, Board and Shareholders, and other internal stakeholders: This includes compiling and presenting cost-related information in reports for various stakeholders within the organization.
Regulatory Activities: This includes the compiling of data required for regular reporting to the Regulator and also working with the regulator on the determination of the tariff.
The candidate shall also participate in special projects and oversee other responsibilities as directed by the reporting manager from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Accountancy / ACCA / CPA or equivalent.
At least 5 years of working experience with minimum 3 years in Costing and management reporting in a large manufacturing organization.
Experience in SAP S4 Hana and hands-on experience in SAP Analytics Cloud.
Prior Financial Modelling experience will be a plus.
Hands-on experience of SQL and BI Tools like Power BI in a corporate environment will be a plus.
Candidates from oil and gas industry or other complex utility infrastructure will be considered favourably.
PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
Analytical, quick-thinking, resourceful, and independent.
Process oriented, with strong data-mining skills and a sharp eye for details. Able to deep dive into the data and be inquisitive and ask questions to fully understand the information.
Advanced working knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
Manages relationships with Business Owners at the working level well with clear and strong communication abilities.
