Over the years we are developing and manufacturing our own designed Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs) in the Fugro ROV production and support facility Singapore which are deployed in offshore around the globe.
We are determined to minimize our carbon footprint and promote sustainability by transitioning from Legacy standard, hydraulic powered underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) towards a highly autonomous e-ROVs. These e-ROVs are developed in collaboration with Fugro innovation centers which are deployed from our state of art Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USV) or through standalone launching systems which are operated from land based remote operating centres (ROC) around the globe.
ROV systems are used to conduct inspection, repair, maintenance and support works for the offshore infrastructure, renewables and Oil & Gas industries in depths of up to 4000 meters of water. Building and designing ROVs requires a combination of mechanical, electrical, electronics and software engineer disciplines, as well as a hands-on mindset to support the offshore teams in the delivery of their bespoke projects.
Position Summary
Fugro is looking for a QA & Commissioning Engineer to support our ROV production and support facility in Singapore. As a QA & Commissioning Engineer you will report directly to the Senior Test Engineer. As a QA & Commissioning Engineer in our company, you will work closely with the production team to understand why we’re building a product and what the specific requirements are. Then you will run a series of tests through all stages of production with the help of subject experts to confirm the reliability, identify potential issues and recommend improvements.
Ultimately, you’ll ensure our final products meet our safety and quality standards through FAT procedures and therefore ensure successful roll-out in the operating regions.
About the Role:
Quality Assurance
Work with various disciplines (mechanical, electrical and electronics teams) in the production and Engineering to ensure quality of assembly works done.
Quality Assurance on the equipment tested before delivery.
Ensure our products and procedures meet industry standards.
Responsible for NCR data base, follow up on open/close the NCR on time
Equipment testing
Conduct functional tests on the equipment as per test procedures and produce certificates.
Conduct detailed integration testing between sub-systems followed by Factory Acceptance Tests on the ROV systems and other equipment as per Fugro test procedures/FAT protocol.
Document excellence
Liaise with the Engineering team and various technical experts in relation to continuous improvement of the quality and improvement of the ROV system
Team collaboration
Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests on the ROV systems and equipment as per Fugro test procedures.
Commissioning and technical support
Occasional overseas visits required to commission our ROVs and to provide technical support for the regions.

About you:
Minimum Diploma or Degree in technical or engineering subject, preferably electrical & electronics or mechatronics.
Previous experience as a Test Engineer or Commissioning Engineer or similar role.
Experience in ROV or offshore engineering industry with great trouble shooting skills and analytical mindset.
Relevant experiences in configuring Navigation and various sensors used in Offshore is an advantage.
Aptitude and drive to develop knowledge and acquire new skills.
Good hands-on experience in mechanical/electronics equipment maintenance
Ability to travel overseas or offshore vocationally for support works as requested by our user community.
Willingness to work flexibly until tasks are finished if required.
A good team player and good communication skills
Positive and willing to learn attitude, coupled with the ability to take initiatives
