About The Role

Associate, Communications

The Milken Institute is looking for a creative, experienced, and digitally-savvy Communications Associate to support the Institute’s various international programs and engagements.

Roles & Responsibilities

The Associate for Communications will support the Milken Institute’s media and communications function for its international programs and engagements arm, Milken Institute International. This role is part of the Media Communications team under Milken Institute International where the Associate will partner with the comms lead and work closely with diverse stakeholders, both internal and external.

The Associate will work with the communications team to ensure the marketing and communications objectives and deliverables for the Milken Institute’s flagship convenings are. The Associate will be responsible for crafting, curating, and publishing key messaging contents across all platform, including press releases, social media posts, media guidelines, media invites, speeches, scripts, and more.

An ideal candidate should possess experience in public relations and communications, with a track record of carrying out creative and effective communication campaigns across multiple platforms, markets and for various audiences.

We Are Looking For Someone With…

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or relevant fields
  • The ideal candidate will have in-house or agency experience with demonstrated ability to ideate and implement communications campaigns.
  • This role requires writing, editing, and translating new or existing marketing collaterals, documents, presentations, and press releases into Chinese to target audience within key markets in Asia (including but not limited to : Mainland China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and more) for Milken Institute International. Hence a candidate with strong command of the Chinese language is preferred.
  • Around 2-4 years of agency experience in finance, technology, policy, healthcare, and events marketing & communications.
  • Experience in developing and executing communications campaigns, including key messaging, content angles, and channels for placement
  • Experience in developing and upholding quality and standards for external communications assets and materials (media invites, media guidelines, briefing book, media pitch, social media content, and more)
  • Strong collaborative spirit and is able to support various communications projects in partnership with cross-functional working teams
  • A basic grasp of public relations, earned media principles, and social media strategies
  • The ability to work well with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including media partners, strategic partners, and sponsors to implement communications plans/campaigns to achieve marketing impact
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
  • Assist in cultivating and nurturing meaningful relationships with key media and other important stakeholders to enhance Milken Institute’s thought leadership reputation
  • Support media and digital content creation such as media releases, talking points, presentations, speeches, media kits, videos, LinkedIn posts and FAQs
  • Experience in addressing media queries and facilitating public engagement opportunities, and is able to engage and cultivate mainstream media as well as digital media, technology and trade journalists to expand media database
