About our Group:

The team is dedicated to supporting all aspects of direct material coverage for HDD, Systems, and SSD New Product Development. They play a crucial role in ensuring that all advanced and new product development initiatives in Longmont Design Centers and Asia factories are fully supported. This involves meticulous planning and coordination to guarantee that all builds are completed on time and in full.

About the role – you will:

  • Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of New Product Development (NPD) materials as driven by the product team config plans.
  • Ensure all NPD builds are executed in full with zero gaps.
  • Communicate clearly with suppliers to make sure purchase orders (POs) are filled accurately.
  • Highlight/escalate material issues at supplier to Core Teams.
  • Procurement of initial soft and hard tooling for new products.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with Material Program Manager, Design Engineering, Reliability, Supplier Engineering, Purchasing, and Commodity Management to ensure that all sources identified on the Sourcing Plan are fully qualified by product launch.
  • Support 2nd source quals for STX.
  • Work with Commodity Management Team (CMT) to reduce lead time and cost for unique components.
  • Coordinates with finance/accounting to make sure accounts are set up for new product builds and to reconcile any invoicing issues.
  • Works across functions to drive gap resolution and escalate as needed.
  • Collaborates with Factory Team to disposition excess and down-level material.
  • Contain scrap across all NPD products.
  • Support Mass Pro (MP) buyers as needed for gap closure, to prevent line down scenarios, or second source quals.

Your experience includes:

  • Degree in Supply Chain & Logistics Management or relevant discipline.
  • More than 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing industries.
