The mRNA Foundry is a nationally funded programme which aims to build mRNA manufacturing capabilities to support public and private sector R&D capabilities towards clinical applications and pandemic preparedness.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for the execution of the programme and delivery of strategic objectives and plans of the Foundry to achieve the core missions.
  • To lead an integrated and diverse PD team from upstream production, downstream purification, formulation, and scale-up & analytical disciplines for mRNA drug substance and drug product manufacturing
  • To lead day-to-day operations, manage and develop mRNA Foundry team.
  • To oversee technology transfer processes to/from internal and external manufacturing teams
  • To actively identify and collaborate to innovate and optimise platform performance.
  • To ensure the timely delivery of core projects

Requirements

  • PhD with more than 10 years of relevant working/industry experience or MSc with more than 15 years of relevant working/industry experience, preferably with a background in mRNA, molecular biology and/or formulation.
  • Experience in manufacturing, QC and GLP/GMP settings.
  • Extensive technical experience in the scale-up and process analytics for mRNA production & formulation.
  • Familiar with the implementation of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading a project team to successfully deliver goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Good understanding, innovative mindset and keen eye for industry needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to think ahead to plan and execute with team.
