The EHS Officer manages workplace environment, health and safety plans for assigned projects. He will oversee the development and implementation of health and safety policies in compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act 2006, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and objectives.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in managing EHS, specifically in compliance with Singapore's regulations for the Power Plant Industry
  • Certificate of Registration by MOM as Workplace Safety and Health Office (WSHO)
  • Good knowledge of HSE legislation and regulations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with MOM, SCDF and other authority's safety regulations
  • Co-ordinate with Project Manager and EHS Lead on safety, health, environmental and security matters at workplaces
  • Conduct safety orientations, training, meetings, inspections and audits, as well as follow up with corrective and preventive measure
  • Ensure Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is applied within site at all time
  • Manage and update risk assessments in accordance with the Workplace and Safety and Health Act (WSHA), ensuring that all risks are identified and addressed
  • Report safety risks and assess non-compliance
  • Identify and recommend best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risk, raise safety awareness and improve safety work practices
  • To assist the EHS Lead in implementing an effective workplace, safety and health management system in accordance with prevailing legislation
  • Submit mandatory safety reports to internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain all documentation related to safety for audit purposes
  • Assist in maintaining certificates such as ISO and BizSafe Certificates
  • Ad-hoc duties as assigned
