Role Overview:

  • Act as on-site engineering liaison to improve communication and cooperation between engineering and supply chain.
  • Has In-depth knowledge of non-conformance assessment and driving producibility initiatives.
  • As the shop engineering representative, drive a high rigor into the manufacturing and design integration process and identify and drive manufacturing support activities to ensure long term on-time engine delivery.
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products.
  • Have high levels of interaction with and exposure to engineers from multiple disciplines, manufacturing & quality, and regularly exposed to commodity and industry experts.
  • Use engineering judgement and experience to challenge entrenched processes and methodology to recommend improvements.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of engineering & manufacturing, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute on technically moderate to high complexity projects to meet technical requirements and business goals
  • Lead technical projects with moderate to high complexity through collaboration with field and industry experts.
  • Explain information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Ideal Candidate

The Ideal candidate for this role should have in depth experience of working in the shop/supplier locations. The candidate should have in depth knowledge of the design, manufacturing and special processes that are used for manufacturing structures/rotative components. Having an MRB certification would be good to have but not mandatory. The candidate should be able to embrace diverse views and get the discussions to a logical conclusion. The candidate should have a proactive mindset to apply problem solving fundamentals to track and eliminate the defects generated at the supplier supported. The candidate should be willing to relocate to Singapore permanently. Conditional relocation allowance will be granted.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree/Masters/PhD from an accredited university or college in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Materials with at least 12-15 years of experience in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering
  • Good understanding of conventional and unconventional manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in Hardware ownership role OR experience in design of structures/rotating components.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Significant experience with GD&T.
  • Prior experience working in shops/suppliers location.
  • Experience with Material Review Board Activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated to drive and influence the outcomes at supplier location.
  • History of being a self-starter with a passion for problem solving and driving solutions, while constantly learning and mentoring others.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
