About The Role

How You Will Do It
Devise and align OpEx programs
- Create OpEx project proposals and achieve alignment with sponsor
- Balance OpEx standards / corporate KPIs with customer specific needs
- Drive OpEx discussions in the OpEx consulting service hub mainly in Asia Pacific area, e.g. via regular dialogues in close cooperation with Business Units (BUs) and regional OpEx team to increase asset or organization productivity.
- Work proactively with sites to define tailor made optimization projects and leverage OpEx benefits, initiate OpEx measures via dialogues, workshops, site assessments, etc.
- Support/lead OpEx consultancy projects within BASF
- Actively contribute to activities of the OpEx community in Asia Pacific and foster an experience exchange between BUs and functional units
- Assets management and maintenance strategy community activities
Drive OpEx programs
- Facilitate objective evaluation of clients’ as-is situation and create transparency in operations
- Identify and assess improvement potentials based on the OpEx Benefit Guideline
- Develop OpEx measures and implementation roadmaps to achieve sustainable improvements
- Develop / combine right set of KPIs to create transparency and to track results
- Preparation, execution and documentation of OpEx workshops at sites
- Combine OpEx trainings with real improvements at sites, Regional BUs and Functional Units
- Coaching of OpEx multipliers in using OpEx tools and principles
- Implement Operations KPIs in sites and units
Plant and Site Organizational Development (PSOD) expert
- Development of the right organizational processes as well as setup in and between production plants, site services and support functions
- Optimization of processes, organization and interfaces at a single plant or whole production site with specific concept development
- Support in implementation of defined roadmaps. Function can be of supportive (as PSOD expert or coach) or of driving (as implementation manager)
- Support in defining asset and site target pictures as well as support in creating asset and site development plans
- Project Management and transparent communication to stakeholders
- Preparation, execution and documentation of PSOD workshops at sites
- Methodology expert for PSOD in Asia Pacific
Develop skills, capabilities and tools
- Develop and update OpEx concepts, KPIs and tools according to future trends for standardized use in BASF
- Provide and update data regarding production in Operations Database
- Encourage and drive best practice sharing across functions, units and sites and among Global Business Management
What We Look For
- Bachelor’s degree or above in chemical engineering or technical chemistry
- More than 10 years’ experience in process engineering or production within chemical industry
- Minimum 3 years of experience within consulting is preferred
- Methodology expert for Operational Excellence
- Thorough knowledge of OpEx tools and principles
- Experience in applying OpEx tools and principles in different areas
- Good knowledge of OpEx database and Operations KPIs
- Experience in data collection and evaluation
- Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization
- Strong training, moderation, communication skills
- High analytical skills and ability for abstract thought
