Operations Manager
What we ask of you:
BAU - Business Operations
- Support outsourcing and offshoring initiatives in the region
- Support global strategic projects in the region (1WF, Doc Gen, Bluprint 2 etc)
- Liaise with relevant business unit managers to ensure operations issues impacting the business is identified
- Support underwriting process reviews to identify areas of improvement and automation opportunities
Vendor Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors
- Assist in negotiating contracts and agreements to ensure favourable terms to Markel
- Conduct vendor performance evaluations and provide feedback
- Ensure vendor is compliant with Markel’s policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and international stakeholders to identify their needs and requirements
- Develop and implement vendor management strategies to drive cost savings and efficiency
- Manage vendor-related issues and resolve conflicts
Operations MI/Reporting
- Analyse data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Tracking and monitoring of performance metrics in operations teams
- Analyse vendor performance data and provide insights for improvement
What you will bring to the role:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in insurance operations and vendor management in Speciality Insurance
- A proven track record in leading operations projects and initiatives
- Experience in overseeing outsourced arrangements
- Data-driven approach and ability to analyse and interpret data
- Ability to communicate clearly to all levels in the organisation, with ability to influence stakeholders
- A hands-on approach, with high energy levels and self-motivated.
