
Underwriting Assistant (12 months FTC)
The Role
This position has the responsibility to provide underwriting-related administrative support under a Fixed-Term Contract for 12 months. The scope of work includes liaising and interacting with key support functions including Underwriting support services, WNS, Credit Control, Payment, Claims, Actuarial, Risk & Compliance, Finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to underwriters and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory procedures
- Completion of pre-underwriting tasks (preparation for upcoming renewals, pricing tool input, filing, quotation tracking, EPI monitoring, risk log completion)
- Completing of post-bind tasks (contract check, maintain digitally stored underwriting files, completion of rating tool)
- Bordereaux management – data input, cross checking of inwards and outwards bdx
- General portfolio monitoring for different internal departments
- Work in close cooperation with the Global team to manage overlap and be consistent, wherever applicable.
- Maintain good relationships with external and internal parties as appropriate.
- Compile statistics and analyse performance of all risks and accounts.
Skills:
- (Re)insurance administration experience is essential
- Exposure in Property D&F market is an advantage
- Broad exposure to underwriting systems and processes
- Strong proficiency in Excel would be an advantage
- Lloyd’s and/or London market experience would be an advantage.
- Degree preferable but not essential
- Strong IT skills, literacy, numerate and having analytical and negotiation skills.

- Ability to work under pressure, able to commit to and meet deadlines.
