Principal Responsibilities
ACE is responsible for providing direction and coordinated management oversight for IT applications/platforms used by the INS Actuarial and Finance teams, including FIS PMCS, Python, Alteryx, Coherent Spark. This work involves working closely with the IT, INS IT and local teams to ensure the efficient and effective management of these services to ensure availability and cost efficiency of use on behalf of all sites and actuarial teams.
ACE was formed at the end of 2019, following the decentralization of actuarial resources to local entity insurance manufacturing teams. ACE is part of the FLoD in Group Insurance, based in HK and UK, that currently provide a range of actuarial services to Group Insurance and local entity actuarial teams including:
ESG model development and production, EC forecasting and actuarial proxy modelling
Validation, model risk assessments and model risk policy support
Actuarial model development and testing
Actuarial Analysis support for entities
Specialist actuarial projects
Centralized actuarial IT management support
Its insurance business operates globally and is the world’s leading bancassurer. most significant insurance manufacturing operations are based in Asia Pacific, Europe, and Latin America. Products include with profits, unit-linked, protection, and annuities; and models span IFRS, statutory reporting, economic capital, and product pricing /illustrations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating between IT, INS IT and local teams to clearly deliver the user requirements, which include the streamline of current process by programming (e.g., Big Query/ Alteryx / other applications) to minimize operation risk, preparation of the data requirement to IT platform used by Actuarial team with good quality. The role holder will be responsible for the management and coordination to ensure the availability of in scope IT platforms to ensure a timely and professional delivery to sites and group Actuarial and Finance teams.
Responsibilities include:
Communicate between local Actuarial teams and IT by delivering user requirements to IT clearly. Streamline the existing process with programming (e.g., Big Query/ Alteryx/ other applications) to generate the reports/ data for reporting and analysis purpose.
Communicate with IT/ Transformation team on the data requirements, to be existed in IT platforms
Work closely with IT on the GDC and IRDMP platform to ensure it works.
Review testing results and the programs built by the juniors and provide necessary program support.
Maintain a robust control structure, governance, and documentation standards, prepare model documentation and model limitation list, including the issue log that local teams will take away for future improvement if necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements
University graduate in Computer Sciences, Business Finance, or related discipline
Strong communication skill and good interpersonal skills
Experience with SQL scripting
Good knowledge of SQL, and/or Python & Alteryx is a plus
Project management experience, organizational skills and ability to think innovatively
Demonstrated initiative, autonomy and commitment to process improvements
Knowledge of life insurance business is a plus
