About the Role
As a High-Level Controls Support Engineer, your role will involve analyzing and assisting in servicing baggage handling system control software. You’ll work closely with the operations and maintenance team to identify and resolve system issues, research solutions, and suggest system improvements. Frequent interactions with internal teams, customers, and suppliers will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will have a strong focus on Oracle database, Java-oriented software, and the Linux platform.
- Perform root cause analysis on control software issues for baggage handling systems.
- Review system logs and data to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Develop and maintain validation tests and change control logs.
- Monitor IT infrastructure and material handling environments.
- Manage incident reports and triage events.
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance tasks.
- Serve as the main point of contact for customers, ensuring clear communication.
- Analyze issues and provide technical solutions based on customer feedback.
- Advise on next steps to minimize downtime.
- Take proactive measures based on lifecycle or maintenance plans.
About the Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, information systems, or a related field.
- Preferably, experience with IT service management practices (ITIL v3/v4).
- Strong interest in IT and industrial automation, with a focus on logistics processes.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience within the baggage handling or airport industry.
- Hands-on experience with ORACLE SQL and JAVA software development is preferred.
- Experience with LINUX and network communications is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of Systems Engineering and/or Software development.
- Understanding of testing methodologies and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficient in English to effectively handle documentation and communication tasks.
- An assertive team player with a proactive mindset.
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational environment and be on-call as required.
