The Project Manager will be responsible and accountable for the successful implementation of software application projects within strict deadlines and budget constraints. This challenging role requires the candidate to independently initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control and close projects. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to navigate internal and client-side organisational landscapes and conduct typical project management activities, including resource acquisition, scope definition, effort estimation, budget approval, and coordination of team members and third-party contractors to deliver projects according to plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide cross-functional teams (including development, testing, product, solution architecture, and external experts) to successfully complete projects
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers regarding all project-related issues
  • Oversee project scope, quality, timeline, effort, and budget constraints
  • Manage both internal and external stakeholders, including banks and regulatory bodies
  • Plan and acquire project resources, including personnel, information, agreements, materials, and technology, and execute to meet project objectives
  • Manage all aspects of the project, including team coordination and stakeholder communication, to minimise risks, maximise benefits, and control costs
  • Lead, influence, and support customer decisions to ensure acceptance of project parameters, deliverables, and outcomes
  • Work closely with teams to propose and deliver solutions to stakeholders
  • Conduct impact analysis for both new and existing requirement changes
  • Ensure the effective management and execution of all tasks and engagements across functional and technical tracks
  • Support and engage in functional discussions, walkthroughs, and presentations with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes
  • Manage and support internal and external acceptance testing, industry testing, and live cutover activities
  • Monitor and manage project risks, issues, and progress to ensure timely delivery of deliverables within budget
  • Ensure adherence to established project processes, standards, and methodologies
  • Prepare and review project status reports, meeting minutes, risk reports, and other related documentation
  • Oversee the thorough review of technical, operational documentation, and training materials
  • Define and communicate clear, practical, and achievable project objectives to both internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in IT project management, including a minimum of 5 years managing projects independently with contracts over USD $1M
  • Experience managing projects with total contract values exceeding USD $3M is highly beneficial
  • In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with IT project management and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Proficient in AGILE methodologies, processes, and tools
  • Knowledge of implementing management and control mechanisms to effectively track issues, risks, timesheets, finances, and invoices, with the ability to automate these processes where possible
  • Skilled in using project management software
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and pitch to stakeholders with impact
  • Strong leadership abilities and effective people management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience in the financial industry or payment systems is an advantage
  • Familiarity with JEE, RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, MySQL), and Application Servers (e.g., WAS, WLS, JBoss) is a plus
  • PMP Certification is preferred
  • Singaporean citizens or Permanent Residents only
