Role Detail

We are currently seeking a proactive Practice Assistant (Legal Secretary) to join our Dispute Resolution team in Singapore. This opportunity is being offered on a full-time, 6-month contract basis to cover parental leave. In this role you will provide support to 8 Authors.

The daily responsibilities of this role include tasks such as:

  • Building and maintaining client and internal relationships
  • Diary and inbox management
  • Billing, expense management and reporting
  • Matter management including opening and closing files, archiving, electronic filing, and physical filing
  • Travel arrangements and managing trip meeting schedules
  • Running court searches, preparing bundles and transcribing
  • Covering Reception on a rotating roster amongst the other Practice Assistants
  • Assisting in the coordination of internal and external events in collaboration with the other PA’s
  • Other general administrative tasks

We are seeking an individual who is enthusiastic and capable of handling this diverse range of responsibilities.

About You

If you’re an experienced Legal Assistant, Legal Executive or Legal Secretary you’re exactly what we’re looking for!

We’d also like to see:

  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • At least five years’ experience in a legal support role in a private law firm or in-house environment
  • Litigation experience is highly desirable
  • Sound knowledge of the monthly billing process in a legal environment - experience with Elite ideal but not essential
  • Advanced knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to analyse, problem solve and apply appropriate use of judgement
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, choosing an appropriate style for your audience
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and high level of professionalism
