The ideal candidate will play a key role in leading the strategic planning and development of our data centre infrastructure projects. This role involves overseeing the lifecycle of Masterplanning, from initial site selection, technical due diligence up to schematic design stage. The Director ensures that data centre facilities are designed, developed according to company standards and customer requirements to meet the company’s operational, sustainability, and business objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Strategic Masterplanning: Manage the long-term masterplan for our data centre infrastructure, ensuring alignment with the company’s growth and technology strategy.
  • Design & Development: Lead the design and development phases up to schematic design stage of our data centre projects, working closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with senior management to define and refine strategic objectives for our data centre development, expansion and optimization.
  • Project Planning: Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including design consultants, vendors to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Leadership: Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for Masterplanning-related matters with internal and external stakeholders. Present project plans, progress updates and reports to executive leadership.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
  • Consultant and Vendor Collaboration: Work closely with external parties for successful design delivery, selecting the appropriate components and ensuring compatibility for construction and operations.
  • Actively champion and implement policies and procedures for occupational health & safety in the workplace, information security management, environmental management systems; incident management; and comply with all legal regulatory requirements of the organization

The successful candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field.
  • 10 years or more relevant professional and project delivery experiences in APAC, including design of hyperscale data centres.
  • Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical and IT system.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale data centre projects.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with project management principles.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Professional engineering certification is advantageous.
  • Primarily office-based with extensive travel required to project locations within Asia Pacific.
