Regional Finance Specialist- Global hedge fund in Singapore

Polymath Search is partnering with a global hedge fund in Singapore who is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Associate to join their growing Asia presence. You will be responsible for overseeing corporate accounting for the Southeast Asia (SEA) region as well as playing a key role in financial reporting and process improvements within their finance function.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial analysis.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors for financial audits and tax filings.
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity management for the firm’s operations in SEA.
  • Enhance financial reporting processes and internal controls to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process enhancements within the finance function.
  • Assist in the implementation of financial systems and tools.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with investment teams and other departments on financial planning and budgeting.
  • Handle ad-hoc finance projects and reporting requirements as needed.

Requirements of the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA, ACCA, or CA qualification preferred.
  • At least 5- 8 years of experience in corporate accounting/ fund accounting, preferably within the hedge fund or fund admin industry. Candidates from Big 4 with experience in hedge fund or asset management will also be considered.
