Key Responsibilities/Duties

  • Extract corresponding budget from main project budget and analysis the corresponding budget against current procurement scope.
  • Preparation of packages for calling of quotation.
  • Perform accurate quantity take- offs and produce bill of quantities (using bluebeam).
  • Source and shortlist suitable subcontractors for tenders, invite for subcontractor for quotations, prepare comparison, ensure all are the same basis.
  • Evaluate and negotiate with subcontractor and supplier to ensure competitive pricing and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare document for recommendation for award for subcontractors and suppliers.
  • To perform contracts administrations duties and perform cost control during the processing of work.
  • Prepare payment response and certification for the recommendation of progress claims from sub-contractors
  • Budget and cost monitoring, cash flow projection, monitoring and update
  • Update and submit details and information such as taking-off, estimation works and tabulations
  • Monitor and raise back-charge to subcontractor & suppliers promptly
  • Coordination and attend meetings with all related parties to ensure smooth project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree of relevant discipline or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in civil engineering industry as quantity surveyor.
  • Candidate with at least 6 years of experience in civil engineering industry to be considered for Senior Quantity Surveyor.
  • Strong knowledge of SMM principles, contract law, construction contracts, and the Security of Payment Act.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with meticulous attention to detail and a strong focus on cost-consciousness.
  • Experienced in contract drafting, cost comparison analysis, contract procurement negotiations, and contract administration.
