Client is a public corporation seeking to hire an immediate 5-months Civil Engineering Supervisor.

Your new role

The primary role of this position is to act as the client's on-site representative and overseeing the Wharf Refurbishment Project.

The Civil Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring the contractor's activities, ensuring compliance with the contract documents, health and safety regulations, and quality standards, and reporting progress and any issues to the Client's Project Manager and other stakeholders.

This is not expected to be a full time role for the full duration of the project and as such there may be a secondary requirement to work as a Civil Engineering Supervisor / Civil Project Engineer on other civil engineering projects.

This may be located and OFD Senoko, the Wharf or anywhere along the pipelines between those 2 locations.

· Maintain a daily presence on site, closely monitoring the contractor's progress and workmanship throughout all phases of the wharf refurbishment project.

· Observe and supervise the pouring of reinforced concrete, asphalt laying, bollard installation, and barrier installation, ensuring adherence to specifications and drawings.

· Monitor the quality of materials delivered to site and ensure they meet the project requirements.

· Conduct regular site inspections to verify that the works are being carried out in accordance with the approved plans, specifications, and method statements.

· Identify and report any deviations from the planned works or potential defects to the Client's Project Manager, and ensure corrective actions are agreed then implemented.

· Monitor the contractor's compliance with health and safety regulations and site-specific safety plans, raising any concerns immediately.

· Attend site meetings with the contractor and Client's Project Manager to discuss progress, address issues, and plan ahead.

· Maintain a site diary, recording daily activities, progress, observations, and any relevant events. Prepare and submit weekly/monthly progress reports, including photographic evidence, to the Client's Project Manager.

· Consider how wharf vehicle restrictions may affect the contractor and help with traffic management plans.

What you'll need to succeed

· Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline.

· Significant experience (minimum 10 years) in a site supervision role within civil engineering construction, preferably with experience of a similar infrastructure projects.

· Proven experience in supervising reinforced concrete works, asphalt paving, and installation of street furniture/barriers/bollards.

· Strong understanding of construction methods, health and safety regulations, and quality control procedures.
