The School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) is seeking a Research Fellow for a one-year engagement. This dual-purpose role combines teaching responsibilities and research within the Climate Transformation Programme (CTP), specifically focusing on the Sustainable Societies theme in collaboration with Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS). This position aims to generate impactful solutions to heritage and climate change challenges within Southeast Asia by merging artistic, scientific, and cultural perspectives.
Under the guidance of Associate Professor Laura Miotto, the fellow will delve into areas such as conservation and heritage practices, and material culture, leveraging art, design, museum collections to form students, to research and to enhance public understanding of climate impacts. By fostering collaboration among climate experts, artists, and local communities, this position will facilitate the development of innovative teaching strategies and outreach efforts aimed at promoting active participation in environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct interdisciplinary research on heritage conservation, material culture, climate-resilient museum practices, and environmentally informed architecture under the Climate Transformation Programme.
- Teach three graduate-level courses annually for the MA MSCP programme and contribute to curriculum development.
- Engage with diverse stakeholders to co-develop innovative, transdisciplinary solutions for climate and heritage issues.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum qualification: PhD in humanities, archeology, conservation, cultural anthropology, architecture or design.
- Academic track record in transdisciplinary research, as well as in cultural and environmental conservation and preservation, and local and indigenous cultural practices.
- Excellent academic writing skills with high literacy of artistic and scientific vocabularies.
- Strong project communication and management skills and experience with transdisciplinary academic publishing and presentation.
