Our client, a multinational and metals trading company headquartered in Japan, is seeking a experiences Freight Operations Executive.

Reporting to the Freight Manager, the incumbent will work as part of a team of three. Their responsibilities will encompass the full spectrum of freight operations ensuring quality amd effective and quality delivery of services to internal and external stakeholders.

Primary responsibilities include overseeing all operational aspects of assigned vessels, ensuring compliance with charter party agreements, optimizing voyages for efficiency and cost-effectiveness, verifying shipping documents (such as B/L, LOIs, and pre-stowage plans), managing claims, monitoring vessel performance metrics, and maintaining accurate operational records. The position also covers risk management and compliance task as part of the job scope.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum Degree in preferably Maritime studies or logistics.
  • Over 3 years of dry bulk operations and freight chartering is ideal.
  • Establish close relationships with critical stakeholders like owners, brokers and freight operators etc.
  • A diligent worker who is knowledgeable about the dry bulk shipping industry.
  • Able to converse with both English and Mandarin counterparties.
  • Proficient in IMOS, Voyage optimization and Microsoft office applications.
