We are looking for a passionate and professional Data Scientist to join our Insights & Analytics team.

Based in Singapore and reporting to the Assistant Manager, the incumbent will engage stakeholders and guide business decisions with data-driven insights.

What You'll Do

  • You will design, build and maintain master tables for Insights & Analytics (I&A) team consumption, including setting up necessary ETL pipelines and automated jobs to validate and process data.
  • You will perform feature engineering to support existing and new data science models, producing a machine learning feature store as part of data science roadmap.
  • You will enhance customer experience by developing a prototype recommendation engine which automatically provides next best action and personalized UI / UX based on customer journey.
  • You will liaise with Data Stewards to populate data catalogue when content is added or modified and periodically perform mass refresh of content on data catalogue platform
  • You will partner with Business Technology team to build data capabilities within enterprise data lake ecosystem (using Python/SQL/Snowflake and machine learning) to support business needs. Such as enhancement of existing tools and platforms, ingestion of new data sources, monitoring and resolving data incidents, and overcoming any technical challenges associated with data sources.
  • You will implement enhancements to existing machine learning models to improve model performance and operational robustness.
  • You will continuously explore internal data, consult with subject matter experts and upkeep documentation of findings so that data practitioners can benefit from the knowledge.
  • You will engage and partner the business to identify key business issues and improvement opportunities on an ongoing basis.
  • You will effectively address AML and Safer Play business questions through data-driven means to support R&C stakeholders.
  • You will collaborate with Channels stakeholders to ensure visibility of the performance of the current retail network, and deliver recommendations through the enhancement and maintenance of existing geographical model.
  • You will influence R&C and Channels stakeholders to take action through clear and relevant communication of insights and recommendations.
  • You will keep internal stakeholders informed about business performance through periodic reports and dashboards.
  • You will assess and prioritise stakeholder requests and initiatives on the basis of business value and feasibility and achieve accurate delivery that meets SLA agreed with business users.


Who You Are

  • You have a Bachelor's degree preferably in Data Science, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or the equivalent.
  • You should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in data analytics, data engineering, and/or machine learning engineering.
  • You have experience in presentation data and model insights to communicate and explain technical subject matter in a manner that is appropriate and easy to understand by non-technical stakeholders.
  • You possess hands-on experience with database query language such as SQL, HiveQL and Snowflake.
  • You possess hands-on experience building and operationalizing new data capabilities (e.g. building master tables, feature engineering) from scratch. The ability to automate the process using tools like Airflow, cron jobs or similar is an advantage.
  • You have hands-on experience working with very large data sets in enterprise data warehouse and/or data lake and integrating external data sources.
  • Experience using Azure ML, Alation data catalog tool, or experience in recommendation engines is an advantage.
