We are looking for a Satellite Communications Ground Engineer to join Project Kuiper's ground gateway implementation team. You will lead efforts to design, deploy and commission high performance ground gateways, collaborate with subject matter experts to develop highly efficient gateway deployment processes and mechanisms, and be the on-site team lead for installation of Kuiper gateway terminals. Kuiper ground gateways enable our low-latency, high-speed broadband satellite communication constellation allowing Amazon to serve un-served and under-served communities around the world.This position may require access to information, technology, or hardware that is subject to export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Employment in this position is contingent upon obtaining any required export licenses or other approvals from the United States government. In this role, you will:- Lead teams performing on-site ground terminal installations and commissioning of international gateway terminals.
- Deliver operational sites to the Kuiper Operations Team, including physical, network, RF, calibration and site acceptance.
- Support site troubleshooting and maintenance to provide an unparalleled customer experience.
- Engage with industry leading partners to execute our installation strategy.
- Develop installation processes, mechanisms, and standard operating procedures supporting terminal installation at scale.
- Design system test and verification processes and document at-scale mechanisms.
- Manage tactical interactions with partners to ensure milestones, deliverables, and technical artifacts are technically compliant with project objectives and programmatic requirements.
