[What you will be working on]
- Assess and recommend the most appropriate housing and conservation techniques for both storage and exhibition purposes
- Monitor NAS’ repositories and other storage environments for irregularities, and perform risk assessment to ensure proper housekeeping of the repositories
- Perform technical examination, analysis and research where required
- Document and file movements and status of records prior, during, and after conservation treatments to ensure a proper chain of custody during handling and transfer of records
- Support conservation procedures such as emergency disaster response and advise internal divisions/departments on conservation measures, and conduct training on handling for internal staff
- Participate in NAS cross-divisional projects and external programmes or outreach activities such as public talks, publications, or related preservation training
- Ensure that laboratory practices are up-to-date and reflect professional standards e.g. ISO certification
- Relevant experience in conservation, collection care or heritage science, with a keen interest in arts, culture and heritage
- Meticulous, analytical and self-motivated
- Able to work independently and a good team player
- Confident in engaging different levels of internal and external stakeholders
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good supervisory and people management skills required for a senior role
