Job Description

Role Description

This role is responsible to provide support in migrating, upgrading, configuring, troubleshooting and administering the Database Platforms in non-Production and Production environments. The incumbent also needs to ensure the platform adherence to IT compliance requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create new DB creations, database network configuration, determine/adhere to guidelines for database structures and file layout, review and enhance scripts and procedures, proper management of transaction and redo/archive logs
  • Maintain regular database maintenance schedules
  • Monitor backups, recovery and replication for successful completion
  • Perform Disaster Recovery (DR) for all the critical systems and ensure successful rebuilt of Production or DR servers, if necessary
  • Analyze and tune database performance, including SQL query optimization, indexing, and partitioning.
  • Document daily checks and status update
  • Report monthly on database size and DB Uptime and Performance
  • Review, improve and document the database administration and operational guide on new or revised processes and procedures regularly
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as required or assigned

Job Requirements

  • Degree/diploma in Computer Science, Computing, Electrical Engineering or IT or equivalent
  • Experience in system administration in enterprise Oracle database versions (e.g., Oracle 11g, 12c, 19c).
  • Knowledge in Oracle Linux, database intrusion technologies are advantageous
  • Strong understanding of SQL and PL/SQL programming.
  • Familiarity with IT compliance standards such as CIS in a variety of technical environments, including Windows, Linux etc
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with ability to provide quick resolution to problems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Advantageous Experience/Skills/Certificates:

  • Familiarity in shell scripting.
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) in Oracle Database.
  • Other relevant certifications in database management and administration.
