Job Description
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Global Procurement Senior Manager, we are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Category Manager to lead the global category management strategies and operations.
You will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings across a key spend category, Capital Equipment, across their global sites and facilities. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities and a proven track record in procurement management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing and Category Management:You will develop and implement comprehensive multi-year procurement strategies for assigned spend categories, including, but not limited to,
- identifying and executing category specific savings levers,
- providing direction on resource levels across procurement sourcing categories,
- educating business on the sourcing trends, sourcing goals and targets to various stakeholders including Capital Directors
- Cost Optimization:You will identify and drive cost-saving initiatives, negotiate favorable terms, and manage procurement budgets effectively.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:You will partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, align procurement strategies, and ensure seamless execution of procurement activities.
- Market Analysis:You will conduct market research and analysis to stay abreast of industry trends, emerging suppliers, and best practices in indirect procurement.
- Contract Management:You will oversee contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements while securing the best value for the organization.
- Performance Metrics:You will establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of procurement activities and drive continuous improvement.
- Team Leadership:You will lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement professionals and engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation. You will prioritize team's objectives and drive for team's deliverables and accountability. You will provide learning opportunities within the department and plan out learning development plans for your direct reports. You will initiate and implement special projects for the department.
Candidate Profile
Our ideal candidate will be one who has most of the below criteria:
- Bachelor's degree. MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in CapEx procurement, with a proven track record of managing complex procurement functions and achieving cost savings.
- Experience and/or knowledge ofAdvanced Packaging and latest Testing Technologieswill be an advantage, but not mandatory.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated ability and excellent track records tobuild, lead and inspire a teamin a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with e-procurement software/ platforms preferred e.g. Oracle, Ariba, Coupa etc
