
Messaging and Collaboration Operations Support Engineer
Job Description
Job Overview:
The operations function is responsible for implementing, supporting and upgrading all infrastructure components. The focus of this role will be
Remediating any known issues with the Exchange 2016 environment prior to migration
Having input on the design and primarily building out the Exchange Online platform including Edge Servers, Reverse Proxies and other components.
Automation of processes
Full documentation of processes and build procedures
Migrating user mailboxes from on premise to cloud based mailboxes
Performing user support post migration, which could include on-call / out-of-hours support
Running full test cycles post deployment
The candidate must be a highly self motivated team player with good oral and written skills and confidence to present to management.
The candidate should also have a good sense of discipline and time-management and work diligently.
A flexible work ethic is required with the ability to form part of a multi-platform global support team.
3 Key Objectives critical to success of the role:
Relevant industry experience in a similar role
Proven experience in deploying / supporting multi-geo platforms and a solid understanding of change, incident management and compliance / regulatory reporting processes
Ability to work unsupervised on a time-critical project in a hybrid work environment
Skills & Experience Required:
Subject-matter expert knowledge on
Exchange Online
Exchange 2016
Powershell and other scripting / automation technologies
Extensive knowledge of product design and implementation in an Engineering environment.
Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Teams
Advanced working knowledge of Veritas Enterprise Vault and Merge1
Advanced Working knowledge of networking technologies
Working knowledge of storage technologies
Working knowledge of virtualization technologies.
Working knowledge of Windows Active Directory and other core infrastructure components (i.e.Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory enterprise design principles etc.)
Strong oral and written communication as well as organizational skills
A good awareness of audit, compliance, change control processes and procedures. Candidates will have spent a part of their career working in a mature organization with a well-developed audit control framework. (does not necessarily need to have been in the financial sector)
