The Principal Solution Architect is responsible for defining and implementing Solution Architectures for systems within one or more sub-domains at DHL Express. This role ensures that architectures align with business requirements and the Express IT Target Architecture while minimizing complexity and costs. The architect will collaborate with IT teams throughout the project lifecycle, manage vendor architects, and communicate architectural solutions to stakeholders. Additionally, the role includes ensuring adherence to governance processes and providing feedback to Enterprise Architecture on best practices.How will you contribute to the success of DHL?
- Responsible for the Solution Architectures for systems in one or more sub-domains.
- Responsible for defining Solution Architectures that satisfy the business requirements of projects/programs aligned with the Express IT Target Architecture and the IT and Security Standards.
- Responsible for defining Solution Architectures that reduce IT complexity through cost-efficient solutions.
- Responsible for the architecture implementation working closely with project IT teams through the complete project lifecycle: from inception to design, testing, technology selection, and deployment.
- Responsible for managing vendors’ architects.
- Ensure that all project deliverables align with the specified Architecture, author the Solution Architecture Statement and System Requirement Statement.
- Responsible for the review and approval of the Detailed Design, Testing, and Deployment Architecture documentation.
- Ensure the project benefits from reusing existing assets.
- Responsible for communicating the Solution Architecture to the project/ program stakeholders and guiding the IT project teams during architecture implementation.
- Ensure that governance processes, including Architecture and Security touchpoints, are followed.
- Responsible to the relevant Domain Architect for the alignment of the Solution Architecture with the Domain Architecture.
- Responsible to the Head of Enterprise Architecture for cross-domain solution architectures and alignment to the Express IT Target Architecture.
- Provide feedback to Enterprise Architecture with best practices and implementation constraints of the IT standards or proposed Solution Architecture.
- At least 10 years of multi-disciplined IT experience including at least 5 years of Architecture responsibilities in a large, sophisticated organization with a high volume/high transaction environment.
- Development experience in a team that has provided world-class results, specification, and configuration of systems, and interfaces, including data and performance analysis.
- Experience in Integration Architecture, B2C and B2B architectures.
- Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), including Event Management, Business Process Management, Business Rules Engine and Complex Event Processing, Mobile Technologies.
- Working knowledge of the Logistics/Transportation industry.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Project Management Experience in large complex projects.
- Knowledge of Advanced technologies such as Machine learning, Data mining, Text mining, Deep learning, and Natural language processing is a plus.
- Advanced University Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience.
- Architecture certifications from the information systems professional body are preferred.
- Strong English written and spoken language skills.
- Demonstrate professional presentation skills.
