Responsibilities
As an Entry-Level Cloud Engineer at QCP Capital, you will play a key role in supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of our AWS infrastructure. You will be part of the Technology Operations team, reporting to the Head of Technology, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our cloud-based systems' availability, scalability, and security. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate with a passion for cloud technologies to gain hands-on experience and grow their skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- AWS Infrastructure Management
- Assist in the design, deployment, and maintenance of scalable and highly available AWS infrastructure.
- Support the implementation and management of AWS services such as ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Networking, and others as needed.
- Monitor and optimize resource usage, performance, reliability, and costs.
- Monitor and improve AWS network performance.
- Security and Compliance
- Participate in regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Work closely with the security team to assist in responding to and remediating security incidents.
- Support efforts to enhance cloud infrastructure and data protection following Well Architected Framework principles.
- Automation
- Develop basic infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or the Cloud Development Kit (CDK).
- Learn to implement automation scripts to streamline routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in setting up CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitoring and Alerting
- Help set up and configure monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with other teams to respond to and resolve incidents.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with development and production teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services.
- Provide technical support and assistance to team members and stakeholders as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in cloud engineering, software development or related fields.
- Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is mandatory.
- Experience with docker and containerization is a plus.
- Good understanding of Networking.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) is a plus.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, cloud architecture, security and DevOps practices is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn, and excellent communication skills.
- Able to work independently.
- Interest in building a career as a Cloud Engineer with a focus on AWS.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer) are an added bonus, but not required.
