This role, reporting to the Head of HR Asia (or Regional HR Manager in Singapore), works closely with HR partners to ensure effective HR support is provided in line with best practices for the Singapore office. The role involves liaising with the HR Asia team and other relevant service directors to ensure the smooth operation of the Singapore office, aligning with company standards and practices.

As part of a collaborative HR team, this position supports the people agenda for the Singapore office, acting as a trusted HR advisor who understands business priorities and fosters strong relationships to both support and challenge the organization.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Business Management:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for the management team in the Singapore office, delivering effective people solutions for the business, partners, and employees.
  • Identify gaps and propose changes to address people risks, collaborating with specialists as needed.
  • Build strong relationships with the Country Managing Partner to develop local engagement plans and leverage HR and Office Management resources.
  • Provide insights into local issues and people processes, suggesting and implementing changes to improve operations.
  • Support the Head of HR, Asia, in delivering HR strategies, priorities, and operational goals, including managing cyclical activities or projects.

Talent, Learning & Development, and Performance Management:

  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition Specialist to align business needs with recruitment strategies and ensure the Employer Brand is upheld.
  • Support the Talent Manager with the talent management agenda, focusing on development, engagement, retention, and deployment of individuals.
  • Facilitate the annual Performance Management process in collaboration with regional and international HR teams.
  • Collaborate with L&D Managers on initiatives to meet business needs.

Reward:

  • Work closely with the Reward Manager to support the annual salary review process.
  • Provide advice to Partners and Managers on market remuneration trends and resolve internal pay discrepancies.

Diversity & Inclusion:

  • Assist the D&I Specialist in implementing D&I strategies as part of broader business plans.

HR Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local HR regulations and law society requirements.
  • Work with Global Mobility to manage staff transfers, secondments, and movements in alignment with budget, policy, and business objectives.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in a law firm or professional services firm is preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of HR business partnering and operations with the ability to work autonomously while collaborating as part of a team.
  • A proactive approach to improving HR services and operations.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to build effective relationships across all staff levels.
  • Flexibility, leadership, initiative, and a strong sense of responsibility.
