Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will work in close partnership with the Hospital’s leadership team and department heads as trusted advisor for all financial matters. The incumbent will lead the Finance team in the formulation of financial plans (budgets and projections) and management reports, drive financial modelling and cost analytics to provide insights and make recommendations to meet strategic and fiscal sustainability objectives.He/She will ensure that statutory reporting and financial audit deliverables are met, and to partner with cross-functional Risk teams to establish a robust and effective internal control framework in the Hospital.He/She will also be part of the Finance work group to plan, organize and implement the necessary set-up activities as the hospital transitions to its redeveloped campus and scale in year 2028.The Job
- Lead the Finance team in the monthly and year-end close financial reporting, statutory audit and compliance responsibility.
- Lead and drive efficient and effective annual budget and projection activities with all key stakeholders, provide insightful analysis and recommendation to guide senior management teams to make informed decisions to operationalise the hospital’s strategies.
- Conduct regular process review and simplification to the budget and accounting close processes, as well as reporting activities to achieve both Finance operational excellence and quality goals.
- Maintain oversight and management of subvention/capitation funding matters of the hospital, and partner with stakeholders to prepare effective case proposition and funding approval requests or its refinement, to address or alleviate the hospital’s sustainability concerns.
- Maintain oversight and carry out periodic reviews on the hospital’s financial risk register, and to partner with Risk teams to ensure effective internal controls and governance framework are in place in the hospital.
- Assist or lead in ad-hoc projects.
- Degree in relevant Business or Finance disciplines
- Minimum 15 years of relevant work experience with at least 8 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Relevant working experience in healthcare, with knowledge of health finance and economics being preferred, and experience in digital transformation or digital application in business finance an advantage. Experience in audit firms (Big 4) or public hospital also advantageous.
- Strong people management skills and track record in developing and leading effective teams through change management, and/or new set-up or reorganisation
- Strong business partnering skills and experience with cross-functional teams, senior management and stakeholder engagement
- Possesses agile mindset, confidence in managing ambiguity, and excellent financial modelling and data visualizing skills
- Possesses in-depth financial knowledge across financial accounting, planning and analytics as well as enterprise risk management
- Proficiency in SAP (FICO, MM) or S4/HANA, MS Office applications and data visualization tools
