Responsibilities
Maintains a safe and environmentally acceptable operation – Responsible for the day to-day operations of the plant within all EH&S regulatory and Evonik standards, policies and regulatory limits 100% compliance with operating permits and regulatory compliance. Implements the Basic Safety Process / Safety at Evonik activities with goals of zero environmental excursion to air, water and soil, as well as injuries and recordable. Establish safety procedures and environmental regulations for employees.
- Plant Operability- Maintains the plant reliability to assure meeting the sales demand by interaction with the plant maintenance function to control costs and plant schedules and minimize plant uptime losses. Provide engineering support for production and maintenance activities to ensure maximum production. Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability. Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities.
- Continuing operations- Improves the plant manufacturing cost by active participation and promoting employing involvement in continuous improvement programs and other productivity improvement activities. Evaluate current production activities and make recommendations for improvements.
- Quality- Plan and coordinate production engineering processes on daily basis to produce high quality products according to Integrated Management System procedures.
- Communication: Maintains communication with upper management, employee, technical, business, and regional support groups as required and proactively communicates issues.
- Provided Manufacturing Input: Coordinates technical and project work with the functional groups to complete plant technology upgrades, new product introduction, and project upgrades by providing manufacturing input for all activities.
- Training: Provides skills training for all operation employees either directly or in collaboration with AP functional experts to accomplish production goals.
- Productivity Improvement: Assists the Production Manager to supervise and execute Plant Improvement projects, including New Products Introduction (NPI) and provides training to the shift teams after the completion of the project. Develop process improvements to effectively utilize equipment and materials to maximize production. Perform engineering analysis to reduce downtime and outages.
- Conduct investigations: Assists the Production Manager to report and investigate any EH&S near miss / violation and customer complaints related to the Production Department and update the Production Manager promptly. Investigate customer complaint and internal complaints/problems, analyze root causes and derive resolutions
- Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering/Industrial Engineering
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience. Incumbent with the suitable bachelor’s degree but with less work experience may be considered for the Assistant Production Engineer.
- Knowledge of Singapore regulations and experience in Chemical manufacturing operations and/or process engineering is a plus.
- Experience with a multinational chemical company with established safety, health and environmental programs would be ideal. English language is a must.
