My client is seeking a Deputy Manager (Operations-Secure Freight Management) in the Logistics industry. The ideal candidate should be resourceful, with excellent negotiation skills to secure stakeholder support. He/She should also have experience in freight management and leading a team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain relationships with vendors, carriers, freight forwarders, and port authorities to offer competitive shipping solutions to customers.
- Develop freight shipment solutions to improve processes and address gaps.
- Monitor any lapses in logistics service delivery to customers.
- Prepare customer proposals and tender documents, and fulfill orders
- Implement strategies to address and mitigate gaps in logistics service delivery.
- Communicate with employees regarding changes in rating principles, states, and operator variations.
- Manage the carrier ranking and customer priority system to protect strategic business during capacity shortages.
- Develop strategies to enhance vendor management capabilities
- Oversee team management in the workplace
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain and Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Logistics Operations
- Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills
- Efficiently manage resources to secure support from internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to lead a team and make independent business decisions
