Senior Manager, Fans & Community Engagement
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Senior Manager with extensive experience in museum management, visual arts and place making. This role focuses on developing and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance the cultural and social vibrancy of the Singapore Sports Hub community spaces, including the Singapore Sports Museum. The ideal candidate will excel at building partnerships and nurturing relationships to engage and educate the community. Additionally, the candidate should have a proven history of integrating arts into community development, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills, and successfully managing place making projects and cultural and venue tours.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the museum, including but not limited to including managing visitor needs, collection handling, restoration, and business administration.
- Develop and produce strategic programmes, together with SportSG, that reflect diversity and enhance vibrancy of the Museum, with a strong focus on the integration of local sporting heritage and culture with visual arts.
- Identify and cultivate partnerships with local artists, cultural institutions, and community organizations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, donors, and sponsors to ensure ongoing support and engagement with the Singapore Sports Hub museum.
- Research, manage and present new tour experiences including the enhancement of the existing venue tour for diverse audiences, including schools, community groups and tourists
- Develop educational outreach programmes to increase school and community engagement and the appreciation of the culture and heritage of the Kallang Precinct.
- Develop and execute place making strategies with a focus on visual arts that align with the Singapore Sports Hub’s vision and goals.
- Monitor and analyze marketing and partnership performance metrics to optimize strategies and achieve measurable results.
- Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of place making projects from inception to completion.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while meeting high standards of quality and community impact.
- Lead and mentor a team of place making professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve project goals.
- Promote a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Required Skills
- Creative and innovative thinking, with the ability to develop unique and impactful cultural initiatives.
- Working knowledge of museum standards and workplace safety and health
- Experience in conceptualising and delivering engaging cross-disciplinary educational and public programmes and tours.
- Strong knowledge of place making principles, public art, and community engagement strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
- Keen interest in interacting with the community (residents, diverse stakeholders, and partners) on arts, culture, and heritage).
- Prior experience in Singapore arts and heritage-related projects, festivals events management or tour coordination
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of successfully leading projects and teams.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with an understanding of partnership opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in arts, museum studies, or related field.
- Possess at least 5 years of professional experiences and a strong track record of achievement in museums, galleries, art centres, science centres or other cultural venues.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to communicate vision.
- Experience in placemaking, programming, business and/or partnership development and marketing.
- Experience with digital media and social media platforms.
- Familiarity with local contemporary art and artists.
