TL@NTU is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Scientist.

Key job purpose:

To develop and optimize Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) diamond growth using Microwave Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition (MPCVD), ensuring high thermal conductivity films. The role also involves advancing CVD diamond lapping, polishing, and laser cutting processes while evaluating the thermal, structural, and optical properties of the grown films for enhanced performance and application.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop new PCD growth using MPCVD system with our project requirment
  • Characterize PCD using tools such as surface profiler, laser interferometer, Raman, laser flash technique, AFM, XRD, SEM etc for the structural, thermal and optical properties.
  • Thorough analysis of the results and publish in high impact factor scientific journals.
  • Support, maintenance and troubleshooting of MPCVD system and its supporting facility.
  • Independent handling of the project to meet the deliverables timely.
  • Writing technical reports to the funding agencies.


Job Requirements:
  • PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with MPCVD systems is advantageous.
  • Experience in CVD diamond growth is preferred.
  • Self-driven, motivated, and able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proven track record of academic or industry publications is preferred.
