Job Summary

Reporting to the General Secretary, the Commercial Director, Commercial & Business Development Department is responsible for strategizing the development and growth of new commercial opportunities and businesses, working towards generating revenue growth. The Commercial Director is also responsible in developing and maintaining effective key commercial relationships for the FAS, Singapore Premier League (SPL) and other national football entitles with stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Strategy

· Create and identify new business opportunities, develop plans and implement them to fulfill set objectives and performance targets consistent with the business objectives of FAS, SPL and other national football entitles.

· Direct the efforts of commercial and business development and coordinate with other functional departments in the Association.

· Spearhead initiatives to gain acceptance of identified external stakeholders with a common interest focus, including building and maintaining long-term working relationships or partnerships.

· Effectively direct, plan and deploy available and new resources to develop and market the SPL business as well as other national football entitles to generate revenue.

2. Commercial

· Identify and create new business, develop strategies and implement to fulfill set objectives of the FAS, SPL and other national football assets.

· Lead in the identification, development and implementation of joint initiatives, strategic partnerships and successful business proposals to secure new contracts for FAS, SPL and other national football entitles.

· Create and develop commercial opportunities to achieve revenue growth for FAS, SPL and other national football entitles through football activities and services.

· Manage and cultivate good relationships with current and new sponsors and partners together with the other functional departments in the Association to secure and increase revenue streams.

3. Business Development

· Develop and implement Corporate and Directorate business development strategies and plans to meet the demands of Executive Committee members.

· Identify new business opportunities, taking the lead on constructing robust and successful business proposals that secure new contracts and long-term client relationships for the FAS, SPL and other national football entitles.

· Ensure the management is systematically appraised of market opportunities, conditions and associated business developments.

· Develop strong working relationships and understanding football services to facilitate highly effective teams working through business development cycles or contract negotiation cycles.

4. Others

· Prepare regular written reports on business development activities and projections, including financial aspects (budgeted versus expenditure) for presentation to Management.

· Ensure commercial and business development programmes are communicated and understood by internal stakeholders to secure buy-in and cooperation.

· Resolve high-level disputes / negotiate contracts with sponsors or distributors to manage resources and establish joint programmes for mutually beneficial partnerships.

· Any other duties as assigned the General Secretary.
