SUMMARY:
As a Dry Store Assistant, you are responsible for receiving all the dry goods for the company; including locally purchased meats and distributing them to end users.
Main duties and responsibilities
Inventory Support:
· Assist in overseeing the receipt, storage, and issuance of goods.
· Help maintain up-to-date inventory records and support in conducting regular stock counts.
· Assist in monitoring product expiration dates and help with stock rotation.
Quality Control Support:
· Assist in ensuring products are stored under optimal conditions to preserve quality and shelf life.
· Support in implementing measures to reduce spoilage, damage, or theft of goods.
Order Processing:
· Help coordinate with departments and suppliers for order fulfilment and requests for items in storage.
· Aid in processing documentation for incoming and outgoing goods.
Safety and Compliance:
· Support the enforcement of safety protocols and compliance with safety regulations in the dry storage area.
· Assist in handling hazardous materials or chemicals following all safety guidelines, if applicable.
Record Keeping:
· Assist in maintaining accurate records of all inventory movements and transactions.
· Help prepare inventory reports, including stock levels and turnover data.
Equipment Support:
· Assist in overseeing the maintenance and operational efficiency of storage equipment (e.g., shelving, pallets, etc.).
· Report any issues with equipment to ensure timely repair and functionality.
Communication:
· Support the Supervisor in coordinating with other departments and addressing any issues related to storage and goods flow.
· Assist in reporting storage area performance and status to higher management.
Problem Solving:
· Assist in identifying and resolving issues related to inventory discrepancies or operational challenges.
ASRS & Customer Service Team Support:
· Provide coverage for the ASRS and customer service teams during operator absences, ensuring smooth operations and workflow continuity.
Saturday ASRS & Customer Service Department Work:
· Work in the customer service department on Saturday afternoons from 1 PM to 5 PM.
· Work in the ASRS department on Saturday afternoons when no activities are scheduled in the dry storage area, supporting storage and retrieval operations.
Personal attributes
Secondary school education
· Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
· Working knowledge of Epicor preferred
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Preferably with Forklift license
