We cover both strategy and operational consulting work, with a client base that includes Governments, Social and commercial insurers, public and private payors, Biopharmaceutical firms Development Banks, INGO's, Insurers and a range of listed-companies. Due to increasing demand for our services, we are expanding by opening a number of senior roles focused specially on health insurance consulting.

The role

Associate Directors play leadership roles, supporting Directors/Partners to deliver the firms’ operations across Asia. They support the delivery of a strong healthcare consulting business plan and ensure execution/oversight of aspects of plan, or large/complex projects on a day-to-day basis. Associate Directors will assume management more junior members of the healthcare consulting team, and drive delivery of timely and high-quality consulting engagements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Taking responsibility for delegated P&L across certain projects and engagements
  • Managing and delivering high quality projects and results ensuring highest client satisfaction. AD’s with a focus on insurance consulting can expect to work on thematic issues including health insurance strategy, new product design, market assessments, health insurance transformation, the integration of new services or models, provider contracting and ecosystem development, data analytics in health insurance and fraud, waste and abuse.
  • Developing strong, trust-based relationships with clients, and working with the healthcare consulting team to construct timely and relevant propositions to help resolve their most critical business challenges
  • Managing a portfolio of client engagement projects, typically focused on strategy and change challenges of significant importance to clients
  • Supporting the development of thought-leadership and occasionally representing Asia Care Group at major events (speaking engagements, representing the firm at external committees, etc.)
  • Supporting the development of the healthcare consulting business plan
  • Supporting the Director/s and Partner/s to build the healthcare practice including recruiting, coaching and managing the healthcare team.
  • Helping upskill and train junior members of the team

Key qualifications

  • Minimum of a master’s level qualification in healthcare management, health economics, health leadership, actuarial science, insurance or related (e.g. MBA).
  • Formal project management qualifications preferred
  • Evidence of continued, relevant professional development.
  • A good command of English, as this is the key language in which we communicate with clients and deliver our consulting engagements

Key skills and experience

  • A minimum of ten years progressively senior healthcare consulting experience or equivalent experience in industry. A minimum of six of these years must have been in health insurance consulting or working in a health insurance firm. Those joining from industry will need to demonstrate that they have led major change projects. Those with purely “business as usual” operational experience will not usually be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to win new businesses and deliver high-quality consulting/project engagements, that position the firm for future work.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and support the development of the healthcare team
  • A good understanding of Asian health insurance systems, and the ability to utilise this strategic perspective to drive innovative new approaches to client problems
  • Ability to build good relationships with clients and leverage these to develop a pipeline of healthcare opportunities
  • Ability to manage client engagement projects, focused on strategy and change
  • Ability to present and be a confident speaker
  • Willingness to travel as required

Pay: $7,321.97 - $19,962.96 per month
