Responsibilities
- Evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of testing procedures and strategies for the latest R&D products.
- Perform waveguide and optical coupling tests of passive components, and electro-optical tests to characterize active optoelectronic devices and photonic integrated circuits.
- Work closely with other teams/departments on both in-house and outsourced partners.
- Identifies opportunities in the test group to improve test capabilities and procedures to increase efficiency.
- Generate test reports with measurement results and detailed analyses in a timely manner.
- Contribute actively to the build-up of test and characterization capabilities of the Photonics Test Lab, including maintenance of test set-ups and jigs and calibration of the measurement instrumentation, as well as software control and automation of the set-ups.
- Any other duties as and when assigned by your superiors.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles such as basics of circuit design and electrical testing and concepts.
- Hands-on experience with power supply, source measurement unit, optical power meter etc.
Requirement:
- Degree from relevant Engineering faculty
- Familiarity with data analysis tools like Excel or statistical software (e.g. JMP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for reporting and teamwork.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the engineering field.
- Adaptability and willingness to work under supervision as part of a team.
- Proactive attitude and ability to take initiative on small-scale tasks.
