My English School is a group of learning centres that works at building essential English foundation for children to be successful in school and life. We offer a leading-edge Reading programme (including phonics) and an English Primary programme. These programmes are offered at 14 locations island wide.

Job Description:

In this role, you will be nurturing young learners to be a fluent and confident reader through the 5 Elements of Reading Instruction. A clear standard English pronunciation is important to teach the students the right way of pronunciation from the start.
You will also be teaching English Language to students from Primary 1 to 6, striking a balance between academic progress and learning for life. The EL skills include:

Receptive Skills : Reading, Listening and Viewing
Productive Skills : Writing, Speaking and Representing
Knowledge about the Language : Grammar and Vocabulary

All teaching materials/resources which are in-house developed and updated regularly are provided by the company. So there is no requirement for teachers to create own materials.

Furthermore there is a teacher training for all incoming teachers where materials and processes are introduced in combination with lesson observation and co-teaching.

Academic Requirements:
We look for candidates with a degree in English/Linguistics or teaching related from a reputable university.

Working Hours:
Applicants should be able to commit to:

· Weekdays: 2.00pm to 9.20pm (3-days between Monday to Friday)
Weekends: 8.45am to 6.35pm (Saturday and Sunday)

· The academic calendar of My English School. Teachers should not take leave during course period.

Candidates should also possess the following requirements:

· Ability to express themselves clearly in standard English in order to be able to role model and teach young learners the correct sounds/pronunciation.

· Love and enjoy working with young learners.

· Initial teaching experience would be welcomed but is not requirement; the company will conduct a teacher training for incoming teachers.
