We are seeking a skilled Application Support Engineer to provide 24/7 production support for banking applications running on Windows and Unix environments. The role requires experience in incident and problem management, proactive system monitoring, troubleshooting application issues, and ensuring system performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide rotational 24/7 application support, including morning, general, afternoon, and night shifts.
  • Perform incident and problem management, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Conduct health checks and production system monitoring to meet SLA requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance and reliability issues across the software stack.
  • Proactively identify system bottlenecks and work on performance tuning.
  • Implement continuous improvements, including job automation and process enhancements.
  • Identify and fix bugs in production applications.
  • Support infra upgrades and address software/hardware vulnerabilities.
  • Database management – Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server/Oracle, writing and debugging SQL queries.
  • Work on COBOL and CICS application support (minimum 2 years of experience).
  • Preferably have experience with Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) environments.
  • Manage Linux/Unix/Windows scripting for automation and troubleshooting.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting and supporting applications.
  • 2+ years of experience in COBOL and CICS application support.
  • 2+ years of experience in production support for banking applications.
  • Strong SQL Server/Oracle database knowledge, including query debugging.
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix/Windows environments and scripting.
  • Experience in incident and problem management processes.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure 24/7 production support environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) environments.
  • Understanding of software/hardware vulnerabilities and upgrades.
