Job Opportunity
We are looking for a results-driven Import & Export Operations Manager to manage and coordinate all aspects of import and export operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in import and export documentation, air & sea operations and customer services, ensuring smooth and efficient operations for both imports and exports clients.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record in operation management, especially in the import and export field, have experience in managing and leading a team and exposure to air, land and sea freight logistics, with a keen ability to identify and capitalize on operational opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
Import Operations:
- Coordinate import shipments, including booking freight, tracking, and managing customs clearance.
- Prepare and verify import documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore Customs regulations and other government agency requirements.
- Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and shipping lines for timely delivery of goods.
Export Operations:
- Plan and execute export shipments, including booking air space and containers, and arranging transportation.
- Prepare export documentation, including Airway Bills, bills of lading, export declarations, and shipping instructions.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, Free Trade Agreements (FTA), and relevant export controls.
- Work closely with overseas agents and customers to ensure smooth shipment handling.
General Operations & Client Relationships:
- Maintain up to date knowledge of import/export regulations and compliance requirement.
- Ensure adherence to trade regulations, HS code classification, and tax/duty assessments.
- Apply for necessary permits and certificates as required for import/export goods.
- Negotiate rates and services with airlines, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
- Monitor performance of service providers to ensure delivery commitments are met.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipments or customs processes.
- Client relationship management.
- Ability to assist in expanding the import and export client base.
- Overseeing the arrangement of transport and cartage, preparing quotations, and negotiating rates with airlines if necessary.
- Ensure that there are no storage fee, detention, demurrage, and penalties accrued.
- Regularly report on financial performance, operational KPIs, and improvement initiatives to senior management.
- Be available and accountable to both customers and internal stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in import and export managerial operations in freight forwarding industry.
- Experience with air, land and sea modes of transportation.
- CargoWise experience .
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and sustain client relations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and good time management.
- Good organizational skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer usage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field (Preferred)
- Have Potential to become branch manager in Singapore
