OverviewThis legal assistant role is to provide assistance and support to the existing Legal Counsel in respect of business activities as well as strategic and operational issues. This role will involve a focus on general commercial contract reviews, as well as maintenance of standard contract templates. The legal assistant role will be part of the Finance Management and Operations role and will work closely with the current Legal Counsel and CFO.The Role:
  • Review and assist in drafting contracts relating to the business - E.g. Customer contracts, Supply contracts, tenders/bids.
  • Assist in negotiations with customers on various legal issues and to resolve such matters between any customers and the company.
  • Assist the Legal Counsel in providing advice and support in liaising with the Company's internal stakeholders (e.g. Sales, Procurement, Finance).
  • Assist the Legal Counsel in maintaining and updating standard contract terms and contract templates.
  • Provide support in relation to any ad-hoc projects or matters that may arise in the course of business.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as legal executive or similar capacity.
  • Strong language capability in English and experience with Legal terminology is essential.
  • Contract review/document drafting skills or related experience in handling legal contracts and documents is preferred.
  • Good communication skills .
  • Experience working in legal departments of multi-national corporations (MNCs) dealing with regional counterparts is preferred.
  • Experience in dealing with external law firms, commissioner of oaths, notaries and corporate secretarial agents, auditors and regulatory bodies will be valued.
  • Good sense of planning, time management and ability to assess and prioritize workload.
  • A professional demeanor, a "team player" mentality and personal conduct respectful of colleagues and counterparts.
