What the role is:The Smart Nation Group - Digital Government (SNDG), under the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and administratively managed by the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI), plans and prioritizes key Smart Nation and digital government projects, raises the standards of Government ICT and services, builds long-term capabilities for the public sector, and promotes adoption and participation in digital and smart innovations. It takes a whole-of-nation effort, and we will actively engage the public, the industry and fellow agencies as we build a Smart Nation together. The Government Data Division (GDD) within SNDG is responsible for (a) developing whole-of-Government policies to promote data management, sharing and use; (b) identifying and driving new initiatives to improve the exchange of data within Government agencies, and sharing of Government data with commercial partners and the public.What you will be working on:We want a change maker who is creative, collaborative and looks for challenges. You must be ready to roll up your sleeves and rally different teams across government agencies to achieve SNG's vision of a public sector that is 'data driven to the core'. This includes enabling Government agencies to use data to create solutions that benefit citizens and businesses. As part of the Data Assets and Use team, you will work on the following: 1. Develop and implement policies/measures to facilitate data sharing between (a) government agencies, and (b) from government agencies to non-government entities. Examples include: a) Data sharing policies. b) Data classification. c) Protocols to resolve data discrepancies. d) Treatment and protection of personal data. e) Emerging data types, such as images/videos, biometric data. f) Whole-of-government data sharing platforms. 2. Develop and implement measures to ensure, amongst others, data standards, data quality, data interfaces and performance of these interfaces. 3. Develop and implement data-related policies/measures to support whole-of-government strategic initiatives. 4. Close engagement with agencies and developing a good understanding of stakeholders' interests. You will be required to provide advice on the above-mentioned policies/measures, including to arbitrate between competing needs (where necessary). This role has significant impact as it enables Government agencies to better access and use data for policy analysis, service delivery and operations.
