What the role is:You will join AGD's Financial Operations and Systems Directorate which spearheads and implements projects related to the centrally managed Government financial system.What you will be working on:This role will provide you with a rare opportunity to participate in the modernisation of the Government's financial system, which has large scale impact across many agencies. You will be involved in the ideation phase of system development and will have the opportunity to shape the future of the Government's financial system. The role will offer you a strategic overview of Government's financial operations and its interdependencies with adjacent key processes and systems, allow you to gain an appreciation of the interaction between finance operations and technology, and exercise judgement in managing trade-offs to achieve an effective system design to support users' needs. You will support the project team in facilitating the consultancy study, which includes conducting Business Process Re-engineering to enhance current processes and determine the “to-be” state of the new system, identifying possible Finance ERP software solutions that can fulfil Government's operating and reporting needs, and validating feasibility of deployment through proof of concept. The consultancy study will form an important foundation for subsequent system development and implementation.What we are looking for:We are looking for a self-driven and highly motivated individual to join the team in driving the next bound of Government's finance transformation. As a member of the core project team, you will need to be comfortable with working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, engage and communicate with stakeholders at all levels, and be able to synthesise information effectively. Functional/Technical Competencies • Tertiary Education in Accounting or Finance, Business, Finance, IT, Systems or related disciplines • Knowledge in Finance ERP software is a plus • CA Singapore certification is a plus Generic Competencies • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking ability • Self-driven team player with strong communication, stakeholder management, writing, and presentation skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment • Meticulous with keen eye for detail • Has interest in operations-technology work • Good interpersonal skills You will be notified whether you have been shortlisted within 4 weeks from the closing date of this job posting.About Accountant-General's Department:The Accountant-General's Department (AGD) plays an important role in making Singapore a better place through Finance.
