Production Engineer
The Production Engineer will oversee activities in the finishing department, ensuring production schedules are on track and products meet quality requirements. Supported by a team of Section Heads and their respective operators, this engineer will work collaboratively to achieve company targets.
Leadership
- Manage section heads, assign tasks, set goals and evaluate performances.
- Build a collaborative environment and encourage teamwork.
- Provide training to develop staff as well as conduct reviews and manage disciplinary actions.
- Improve and maintain 5S and proper housekeeping.
- Be sensitive to improvement opportunities and escalate upwards.
Efficiency and Productivity
- Oversee and complete production schedule objectives.
- Analyze production schedules and manage manpower.
- Build flexibility in production to meet with ever changing requirements in high-mix low-volume environment.
- Monitor and manage attendance and overtime.
Quality
- Manage production processes to maintain consistent quality.
- Implement and manage in-process inspections for monitoring.
- Participate and address investigations, RCA and corrective/preventive actions.
Compliance
- Conduct regular inspections and enforce WSHE regulations.
- Carry out risk assessments and drafts WI, SWPs to identify and mitigate hazards.
Coordination
- Coordinate with all other departments in areas such as training, maintenance, etc.. to avoid unplanned downtime.
Reporting
- Prepare reports on production indicators for monitoring and review.
Communication
- Be the link between management and operators.
- Communicate employee concerns, suggestions upwards.
- Communicate strategic objectives, directions downwards.
Any other tasks assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and writing, English and Mandarin
- Supervisory experience is essential
- Good understanding of manufacturing process flow and supporting functions
- Knowledge of hazardous substances is essential
