Job Description
• The Research Fellow will work in a recently granted project to develop enzymes and biotransformations for the synthesis of rare sugars.
• The research tasks include engineering of new enzymes by directed evolution, investigation of enzyme catalysis and kinetics, optimization of biosynthesis yield and process, and development of single-step and/or one-pot cascade enzymatic reactions for the production of rare sugars.
Job Requirements
• PhD trained in biochemical engineering, biocatalysis, biotransformation, biochemistry, biotechnology, synthetic biology, or bioorganic chemistry.
• Experience in enzyme engineering, directed evolution, enzymatic reactions, carbohydrates biosynthesis, reaction engineering and optimization, whole-cell biotransformations, and/or process development.
• Good communication skills in oral and written English.
• Good publication record.
