Collaborate with regulators including the CAD, MAS and SGX RegCo to give investors and other market stakeholders continued assurance in the reliability and integrity of the financial information they receive. As a member of ACRA's Inspection team, this individual conducts inspections and work with various stakeholders to ensure that the level of audit quality is enhance • Inspect the quality of public accountants' work via review of audit engagements; • Assess the appropriateness of firm-wide quality controls and processesWhat you will be working on:
  • Plan and prepare for scheduled inspection so that public accountants selected for detailed review, and Singapore Standard On Quality Management (SSQM) elements to focus on have been appropriately considered and potential issues are covered • Conduct firm-wide inspections in assessing the firm's compliance with SSQM, and inspections of the individual public accountant's work to ensure compliance with prescribed auditing standards • Ensure that the inspection methodology remains relevant, effective and responsive - Provide inputs to the risk rating analysis (i.e. peer rating exercise) of audit firms after the firm wide inspection to identify issues and facilitate their risk management; and population of the Risk-based assessment for each firm • Conduct/Participate in other ad hoc projects in ensuring that ACRA's regulatory framework for the accountancy sector remains relevant, effective and response to developments in the environment
What we are looking for:Key Competencies • Risk-based thinking and management - Ability to analyse and make decision using risk-based approach to develop strategic insights and enforcement strategies to optimise the level of regulation in the evolving enforcement landscape. • Analytics - Ability to use data and analytics to generate insights for business intelligence to improve voluntary compliance. • Tech & Digital Adopter - Ability to leverage technology and digital tools as core enablers to optimise and enhance enforcement operations and achieve enforcement outcomes. • System thinking - Ability to look at linkage between processes and how information flows between processes and make recommendations to streamline processes/ operations. • Professional Qualification / Certification preferably in Accountancy • At least 8 years of external audit experience in a public accounting firm • Familiar with SSQM and Singapore Standards on Auditing • Demonstrates technical competency in financial reporting and auditing standards with the ability to identify, apply, resolve or report on complex accounting or auditing issues during the course of work, effective in drawing from professional experience to perform inspection or investigation work • Strong analytical skills to distil all available facts and bring to focus discussions on key issues • Good knowledge of the various requirement / provisions of professional standards / regulations • Good project management skills and the ability to work within stipulated timelines • Excellent stakeholder management and organisational skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Able to work independently and as a team playerAbout Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority:At ACRA, we make Singapore a trusted and best place for business.
