What you do

  • Responsibility and management of a sizeable IT Infrastructure (i.e., Linux computing farm infrastructure, Enterprise storage farm, etc..).
  • Customer facing technical role, rendering daily support of RD production and infrastructure issue.
  • Support incident management and management of vendor.
  • Adhere to policy compliance via asset & configuration management, accounts & access management, vulnerability & patch management, log management, and backup management.
  • Continuously challenging the status quo to improve operation support, streamline processes and enhance users’ experience.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science equivalent or higher.
  • Must have: With minimum 3 years of Unix/Linux Workstation or Server management/support experience.
  • Must have: Familiarity with Unix/Linux principles and commands, file manipulations and file editor.
  • Understanding of Unix/Linux Operating systems, file systems, storage environments, and networking protocols.
  • Knowledge of networking principles including routing, subnets, TCP, IP, VLANs, and UDP.
  • Practical experience of install, configure and supporting such as DNS, DHCP,NIS, FTP/SFTP, SSH, SMTP, NTP in Unix/Linux environment.
  • Familiarity with in Shell or Perl, and/or Python scripting.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer hardware systems including circuit boards, memory modules, and processors.
  • Familiar and can identify or interpret crash dump files and core dump files and monitor System Logs in Unix/Linux environment
  • Good technical & troubleshooting skill with meticulous attitude
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, forward thinking, resourceful, meticulous and observant for details
  • Able to multi-task, work independently and as a team.
  • Ability to lead project/task assignment
  • Fluent in Mandarin to effectively liaise with Mandarin-speaking affiliates.
  • Willing to commit to overtime and standby duty as necessary (infrequently expected).

Good to have skillset/capability

  • VMware 7.x/8.x experience would be an added advantage
  • Data Center management experience
  • Additional Linux certifications (RHCT, RHCE and LPIC) will be considered an advantage
  • Knowledge and experience of Netapp management
  • Knowledge and experience of LSF management
