Merchandising Manager - Travel Retail
A travel retail MNC is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Merchandising Manager to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing one of their categories within their travel retail business. You will play a pivotal role in driving sales, profitability, and overall category performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Category Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
- Assortment Planning: Optimize product assortment by analyzing consumer trends, market dynamics, and sales data to ensure a compelling and profitable range.
- Pricing and Promotions: Develop and implement effective pricing and promotional strategies to maximize sales and margin.
- Vendor Management: Build strong relationships with key vendors, negotiate favorable terms, and manage supplier performance.
- Sales Forecasting: Analyze historical data and market trends to accurately forecast sales and inventory requirements.
- Financial Performance: Track and analyze category performance metrics, including sales, margin, and return on investment.
- Market Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to identify opportunities and threats.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of category strategies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in merchandising/category management, preferably in travel retail industry.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Strong understanding of consumer behavior and market trends.
